PRS S2 Vela Guitar Description

The PRS S2 Vela is a great choice for players looking for something a little different without giving up the quality and playability PRS is known for. With its offset body design, the Vela has a distinctive look that stands apart from the usual PRS shapes, while still delivering the familiar feel and attention to detail you’d expect from the brand.

Tonally, the Vela is incredibly versatile. The PRS DS-01 humbucker in the bridge position delivers plenty of punch and definition, while the Narrowfield pickup in the neck position adds a smooth, articulate character with plenty of clarity. Whether you’re running through a pedalboard or plugging straight into an amp, this guitar has no problem cutting through the mix while still retaining plenty of warmth and character.

The push/pull coil-tap on the tone control gives you even more flexibility by splitting the DS-01 into a single-coil configuration. It’s a handy feature when you want to move from thicker humbucker tones to something brighter and more open without having to change guitars.

The PRS plate-style bridge keeps things solid and dependable, with brass saddles designed to provide excellent sustain and accurate intonation. Notes stay clear across the fretboard, making the Vela equally comfortable for rhythm work, lead playing, and everything in between.

If you’re after a guitar that looks different, covers a lot of tonal ground, and still has that unmistakable PRS level of craftsmanship, the S2 Vela is one you’ll want to spend some time with. It’s the kind of instrument that feels equally at home on stage, in the studio, or plugged into your favorite rig at home.
