The Loar Recording King Swamp Dog Style-O Resonator – Distressed Vintage Green Serial #:A26020514

Weight: 8.10 lbs

Summary:

For years, relic-style finishes have been a staple in the electric guitar world — so why should resonators miss out? That question inspired the Recording King Swamp Dog Style-O Resonator, a brass-bodied beauty that looks like it was hauled straight from a backwoods swamp but performs like a finely tuned modern instrument.

Its distressed, timeworn exterior gives off serious vintage character, yet beneath that weathered surface lies a resonator built for real players. Whether you’re leaning into slide blues, intricate fingerpicking, or adding rootsy flavor to your everyday playing, this guitar delivers attitude and authority in equal measure.

A bell brass body combined with a 9.5-inch hand-spun cone produces a gritty, textured voice with plenty of projection. Expect smoky lows, biting mids, and a raw edge that cuts through the mix while still feeling warm and musical. It’s the kind of tone that feels lived-in from the very first note.

Despite its antique vibe, the Swamp Dog Style-O is thoughtfully equipped with quality hardware and player-friendly features, making it as dependable on stage as it is inspiring at home.

If you’re searching for a resonator that captures the spirit of a forgotten swamp relic but handles like a modern performer, this one hits the mark beautifully.
