Gibson ’57 Classic Humbucker Pickup in a Double Black

The Gibson ’57 Classic (PU57DB2) is essentially a love letter to the golden era of guitar tone. It captures that iconic “Patent Applied For” magic by using Alnico II magnets, which give you a warm, velvety richness that never feels harsh or brittle. Because the coils are wound perfectly balanced, you get a very clear, “singing” quality that cleans up beautifully when you roll back the volume but provides a thick, creamy crunch when pushed through a tube amp. Since this specific model is wax-potted and comes in an uncovered “double black” look, it’s a workhorse pickup—it gives you all that vintage 1950s soul without the annoying feedback issues common in original antique electronics. Are you considering these for a Gibson model, or are you looking to upgrade an Epiphone or another brand?:
